Privacy policy
In short: My Recipes does not collect, store on its own servers or share any data about you. Everything stays on your device.
1. What stays on your device
Everything you type or photograph in the app (recipes, ingredients, steps, cover photos, favorites and settings) is stored in the app's private storage on your own device. The app has no server, asks for no account and uses no ads, analytics or tracking.
2. iPhone, iPad and Mac
- iCloud (optional). If you leave sync on, your recipes are synced between your devices through your own iCloud (the private CloudKit database). That data belongs to your Apple account; the developer has no access to it. You can turn sync off in the app's Settings.
- Reading a recipe from a photo (optional). The text in the photo is recognized on the device itself, using the system's Vision feature. The photo stays in memory only and is neither sent anywhere nor saved. The camera is used only when you choose “Photograph the recipe”; the photo library asks for no permission.
- Lock (optional). Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode is checked by the system. The app never receives, sees or stores biometric data.
- The device's own backup, made by Apple (iCloud or a computer), follows Apple's policy.
3. Android
- The app has no internet permission: it never opens a network connection.
- Android automatic backup. The system may keep a copy of your recipes in your Google account, as it does with other apps. That upload is done by Android, not by the app, and follows Google's policy. You can turn the backup off in Android's settings.
- Backup reminder (optional). If your recipes grow past 25 MB, the app may show a notification reminding you to export a file. The notification is created on the device only, based on the size of your recipes and the date of your last backup, which stay on the device.
- Lock (optional). Biometrics or the screen lock is checked by Android; the app only receives “yes” or “no”.
4. Sending and importing recipes
When you send a recipe (as a file or text) you choose the destination in the system share menu. The app hands the file to the app you chose; the developer has no access to that transfer. Opening a .receita or .livro file you received only happens when you choose to open it with the app.
5. What the app does not do
- It shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking.
- It asks for no login and creates no account.
- It does not access your location, contacts or other apps.
- It does not sell or share data with third parties, because it collects none.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children and collects data from no one, of any age.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will be updated.
